My Dogs live here

My dogs live here, they're here to stay.  You don't like pets, be on your way.  They share my home, my food, my space.  This is their home, this is their place.

You will find dog hair on the floor, they will alert You're at the door.  They may request a little pat, a simple "no" will settle that.

It gripes me when I hear you say "Just how is it you live this way?  They smell, they shed, they're in the way"  WHO ASKED YOU? is all that I can say.

They love me more than anyone, my voice is like the rising sun.  They merely have to hear me say "C'mon, time to go and play".

Then tails wag and faces grin, they bounce and hop and make a din.  They never say "no time for you," they're always there, to GO and DO.

And if I'm sad? They're by my side, and if I'm mad, they circle wide, and if I laugh, they laugh with me, they understand, they always see.

So once again, I say to you come visit me, but know this too.......

My dogs live here, they're here to stay.  You don't like pets, be on your way.  They share my home, my food, my space. THIS IS THEIR HOME, THIS IS THEIR PLACE.

Raising Puppies

These pages may take some time to load, but it is worth the wait.
  Rorrie/Konrad Litter-4.5 weeks-Ridgewood Shiloh Shepherds.
Ridgewood Shiloh Shepherds raise approximately one to three litters of puppies a year.  We take raising puppies very seriously.  I am a Registered Nurse and work part-time night shift.  My husband is retired.  When I have a litter of puppies I take a "maternity leave" to be with my puppies 24 hours a day. I sleep in the nursery from the time they are born until they leave me--even during crate training!!!!

I try to include puppy buyers in the whole process of the birth and first eight weeks of their puppy's growth.  I update this web site weekly  or send out photos from the time the pups are born so you can see the litter grow.  Of course, you are always welcome to visit us as the litter is growing (or any other time) This all starts with the actually breeding of the sire and dam.  When my female comes into heat, I notify you and also let you know how the breeding progressed.  Thirty days after the breeding I take the female in for an ultrasound to confirm pregnancy.

I also start getting the nursery ready for the upcoming litter by cleaning and disinfecting everything.  Around four-five days before scheduled whelping date, I take the Momma in for an X-ray.  The X-ray gives me more of an idea of how many puppies to expect.  Then we sit back and wait for the big day!  Everyday while we wait I take the Momma's temperature three times a day.  A drop in temperature of about two degrees alerts me to labor starting usually within the next 24 hours (though sometimes it can be longer).

X-ray to determine how many puppies to expect.  Look closely to see skulls
