The Chewie/Jackson litter was born May 26, 2002.  They went to their new homes at 8 weeks of age (weekend of July 20th), after being vet checked, first shots given, socialized, crate trained and temperament tested.

Puppies from this litter were tested to be  medium-soft to medium in temperament.  There were 5  smooth coats and 4 plush coats produced in this litter.   We expect wonderful temperaments (great with children), large heads and nice bone on these puppies.  Size should be at LEAST the minimum of 26" for females and 28" for males.  Chewie's first litter (from Jackson's father Rebel) already are of nice size.  At 8 months of age females were running 27" and males were 28" plus in size.

We are very excited about this litter and look forward to watching them grow in their new homes.

We saw easily seven puppies (fetuses) on ultrasound at 31 days into the pregnancy.  Chewie went for x-ray on May 20, 2002 to determine more accurately how many puppies I should be expecting--We saw eight puppies on x-ray, but there could be more.

As time got closer to the due date (5-27-02), we prepared the nursery for the big day.  Below are some pictures of Chewie pregnant and in the nursery--the waiting had begun.

IT'S TIME!!!!!
 
On Sunday 5-26-2002 the first male puppy was born at 5:30 a.m.  After that we waited and waited--nothing happened.  Six hours later Chewie was at the vet's office under going a C-section.  We were extremely lucky all NINE puppies were born alive.  Three males and six females when it was all over and done with.  Chewie recovered quickly and Mom and pups were home in their nursery by 3:30 p.m. So far Mom and puppies are doing well!!!!!
